This remarkable painting by the late Jim Mickelson has come to our attention. Its owner is seeking serious inquiries from any interested collectors. The painting is an oil on canvas, 16 x 20, unframed.
Jim’s sailboat paintings are highly sought after, and rarely come to market. Don’t miss your chance to own what may be one of Jim’s best maritime works.

A vacationer in Newburyport got a very special souvenier to bring home to California. Browsing in the art galleries a day before the Newburyport ArtWalk, JS and his wife wandered into the Connor Summers Gallery and discovered an exquisite drypoint etching by British maritime artist, William Lionel Wyllie, a nineteenth century master. Not being quite what he expected to find, his comment was, “It’s not local, and it’s not new, but it’s exactly what I was hoping for.”
We wish him many years of enjoying it.
This small painting, “A View of Rockport Harbor” came to us from the late artist’s estate. Although unsigned, it is accompanied by documentation of provenance from the auctioneer and Beal’s granddaughter. It is 5.5×9.5 (image), 9.5×13.5 (framed), oil on board. inquiries via email
In mid-December the Connor Summers Gallery received 7 paintings by the late Newburyport artist, Jim Mickelson, on consignment from someone who had relocated to another area of the country. Jim was greatly loved and admired here in Newburyport, both for his paintings and for his friendly manner, so the owner of these paintings decided to allow CSG to show the work, and offer it for sale in the gallery.
The response by the local community has been overwhelming; indeed three of the pieces sold within ten days of their arrival. Interested parties should contact the gallery by phone,
